COMMITTEES AND CHAIR RESPONSIBILITIES

The purpose of the Program Committee is to solicit speakers designed to provide membership with quality educational opportunities. The Program Chair arranges speakers, negotiates payments, coordinated locations, and obtains publicity release information for the newsletter and website. 

The purpose of the Salon Committee is to coordinate the annual Salon Competition. The Salon Chair selects the judges and a moderator, accepts entries and payments through www.printcompetition.com. The Salon Chair provides a computer to run Salon, conducts the competition, announces winning entries and awards merit ribbons. 

The purpose of the Print of the Month/Creative Quarterly Committee is to coordinate monthly meeting image competitions. The POM/CQ Chair records the votes for the competition, discloses the winners at the end of each meeting and maintains the Photographer of Year spreadsheet. 

 The purpose of the Membership Committee is to coordinate membership and maintain the membership roster. The Membership Chair completes the membership process with new members, announces new members in the monthly newsletter and adds them to the email list, provides any new or updated member information to the Website Chair, and conducts the annual membership renewal process. 

The purpose of the Website Committee is to create and maintain the BPPA Website, www.bppafl.com. The Website Chair creates monthly program information and updates the yearly program listing, maintains website membership listing and slideshow, and uploads relevant information for membership and online consumers. The Webmaster receives two FPP Service Merits for each completed year of service. 

The purpose of the Newsletter Committee is the production and distribution of the BPPA Newsletter. The Newspaper Editor serves as reporter, writer, editor, and manages the layout and design. In addition, the Newsletter Editor organizes the emailing procedure of the newsletter. The Newsletter Chair receives two FPP Service Merits for each completed year of service. 

The purpose of the State Delegate Committee is to attend all FPP Board/Delegate meetings. After attending these meetings, the State Delegate provides a report to share with the board and members. The State Delegate must be a Florida Professional Photographer Member (FPP). 

- The purpose of the House/RSVP Committee is to record attendance for the monthly meetings. The House/RSVP Chair receives and records the members’ email RSVP responses and sends the headcount amount to the meeting venue prior to the meeting.

- The purpose of the Door Prize/Scholarship Committee is to obtain door prizes from photography related businesses to obtain reserves for the members’ scholarship fund. The Door Prize/Scholarship Chair sells tickets for the door prize drawings at monthly meetings, records the tally of the sold tickets and brings the sold tickets to the Annual Banquet for the drawing the Scholarship Funds. 

The purpose of the Social Committee is to coordinate BPPA social events. The Social Committee Chair organizes the Annual Awards Banquet as well as other social events throughout the year. The Social Committee Chair establishes the details for these events, as well as advance publicity and notification to membership . 

The purpose of the Meeting Photography Committee is to document BPPA activities. The Meeting Photographer takes candid and posed pictures at meetings and activities as well as pictures of speakers, Salon judges and print competition winners providing edited images in low resolution digital format to the Newsletter Editor and Social Media Chair. 

  The purpose of the Social Media Committee is to publish BPPA information on the BPPA Facebook page. The Social Media Committee Chair posts online updates on the BPPA Facebook page to announce and promote upcoming programs, workshops and events to encourage attendance with membership as well as prospective members.
